Je te crois

  • December and the other days

The band and I recorded these three songs in a living room in Sorel, Québec, on December 20th, 2010 with our good friend Clément Goulet, looking out at snowbanks and nursing St Ambroise royalty.

Two older songs and one new one, for all of you who have supported us over the years, and any new folks just out on a gander, THANK YOU MUCHLY and MERRY XMAS:

Yebo Mama - 4 part harmony: this is a song I wrote years ago about a woman I knew as a kid in Swaziland. She was a very impressive woman. The backdrop...well the lyrics kind of speak for themselves.

Je te crois - first French song: more or less a lullaby I wrote right before the Swiss/French tour in November 2010. Originally thought the cadence melody would make a good kids' song...maybe that version will come later.

Say it ain't so - an oldie of ours in the version how it was written...on guitar sitting in an East Van apartment listening to the rain and thinking about touring, the Catholic church, Nelson Mandela, and my neighbourhood. I once introduced this song as a song about denial, and a woman in the crowd shouted out "Yes". Her ironic sarcasm was the best embrace this song has ever received. I thanked her greatly:)

We hope to see you soon,

    Kristina, Patrick, Amelie, and Mark
